Masters of Harmony to Appear at Midwinter Extravaganza

The Barbershop Harmony Society’s 2018 International Midwinter Convention promises to be an incredible musical extravaganza! It features some of the finest barbershop talent ever assembled at a midwinter event. The Masters of Harmony, 9-time Gold Medalist chorus and current chorus champion, will perform on the Saturday finale, January 20. In addition, the top four medalist quartets from the 2017 International Contest in Las Vegas will perform – Main Street (Gold medalist), Signature (Silver medalist), After Hours (3rd-place Bronze medalist), Throwback (4th-place Bronze medalist), as well as Vocal Spectrum (2006 International Quartet Champion). Other guest talent will include Flightline (2017 Youth Barbershop Quartet Champion), Adrenaline (2017 Sweet Adelines International Rising Star Champion), and The Perfect Gentlemen (world-famous legendary quartet).

Once again, midwinter activities will include an All-Chapter Chorus, this time directed by Justin Miller, gold-medalist director of the Masters of Harmony and Westminster choruses. Those who wish to sing in the All-Chapter Chorus must register, pay the $30 fee, download and learn three songs the chorus will perform on the Saturday night show. Those on stage Saturday night will undoubtedly experience something truly unforgettable — audience-moving four-part chords sung by a large ensemble under the direction of one of the world’s best chorus directors!

The 2018 International Midwinter events will be held from Wednesday, January 17 through Saturday, January 20, at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts, a stunningly beautiful, multi-tiered, 3000-seat opera house in Costa Mesa, California.
