The
Masters of Harmony strongly supports choral music education in our local schools and once again introduces the barbershop art form to over 200 young men throughout southern California by presenting the
15th Annual Young Men’s Harmony Festival at Orange Coast College on Saturday, February 21, 2015. This event, a high-intensity vocal music clinic, encourages students to get involved and stay in their school’s choral music programs. The all-day festival proves exciting for the participants, generating a radiant “wow!” when they first encounter the pleasure of “ringing” four-part barbershop chords. In addition to providing a peak musical experience, the program helps build self-confidence and teamwork skills and demonstrates that singing can and should be a lifelong recreational activity.
After the daylong sessions at Orange Coast College, the students will join the Masters of Harmony and guest quartet The Newfangled Four for a public performance at 7:30 pm. Tickets for the performance are priced at $5 and may be purchased in advance or at the door. All proceeds will go toward supporting local choral music education programs.
