In 2008, the city of Riverside announced plans to spend thirty million dollars to renovate its historic Fox Theater as part of a downtown revitalization program. Its goal was to bring in New York Broadway shows, symphony orchestras, a ballet troupe, and fine choral music. With the work done, Riverside scheduled an inaugural concert season that included well-known performers Cheryl Crowe, Gladys Night, and Bill Cosby. The group given the honor of presenting fine choral music to its inaugural season concertgoers was seven-time International Chorus Champion Masters of Harmony!
Although most audience members were not familiar with the Masters’ style of music, they braved rainy night conditions to attend the Masters’ show. They responded repeatedly to the program with loud, sustained applause. In fact, audience reaction to that performance was so overwhelmingly positive that Fox management has invited the Masters to present a Christmas program at 3 p.m. on Saturday, December 4, 2010.
