Join the Masters of Harmony

Singers Wanted

2002 International ChampionshipOne in 10 American males sings in a chorus at some point in his life. For most it begins in a school chorus, glee club or church choir, but millions carry their love of singing into adulthood. The broad appeal of choral singing is based in the unsurpassed opportunity it gives each singer to participate in an activity that involves him artistically, builds community, and results in a musical product of great beauty. In the Masters of Harmony you will contribute to an artistic product greater than yourself and forge friendships that can change the course of your life. Along the way, you will learn to become a better singer and performer. Specifically, you will learn how to improve your singing skills, vocal production, listening ability, and showmanship.

Visitors are always welcome!

We rehearse every Wednesday night from 7:00-10:30 p.m.

Want to join the Masters of Harmony?

Briefly, here is the procedure. You will first have to attend three out of four consecutive rehearsals. At or after your third rehearsal you should request a membership application from our applicant coordinator. With it you will receive a copy of our Expectation Sheet, describing what it means to become a member of the Masters of Harmony. You will also be given an applicant routing form listing the names of the people you need to see in order to complete our membership and orientation requirements.

The membership requirements include an audition that is broken down into two phases: vocal and visual. Both portions of the audition are designed to determine if you have the basic skills which, given dedication and hard work, will enable you to become an active member of the performing chorus. If you don't qualify the first time, don't worry. The auditioner will suggest areas for improvement and you may re-audition a second and even a third time.

After you have successfully completed the membership requirements, there will be a membership interview at which you will turn in your completed membership application and be asked to sign the Expectation Sheet. Upon approval by the Music Committee, your application will then be presented to the chapter's Board of Directors for approval.

Complete details of the membership process are available at all rehearsals. You can also contact our VP Chapter Development Ray Johnson.
